CEUTA

Although it is not placed in the Iberian Peninsula, the city where I was born is part of Spain. Ceuta is not an island neither a common coastal city, it is a place that remains joined to the African continent only by two short bridges.
The "Mediterranean Pearl", which is the name they have given to it in all the leaflets you can get in the tourism office, is placed in the north of Africa, which is a very noteworthy fact for tourists of every kind. However, the city itself is not especially touristic, and most of its visitors are people who stop to have a look at the town and its shops on their way to the adjacent country, Morocco.
I has been long since I don't pay a visit to my family, who still live there. That is why I am planning to go soon, when I have some more time than I have in a normal weekend, maybe in a bank holiday. The reason is that it takes ages to make the crossing to the other coast due to the incompetence of the people that work in the harbour, which is something I can't stand.
But all in all, no matter the difficulties I have to go through, from time to time I have the urge to come back to the place where I was born, and have a good time with the people that really make me feel like I am home.
